Can from Firefly, Vancouver
Hazy golden colour. The aroma is very perfumey, the ginger surely dominates, although I swear there was a hint of citrus initially. Surprisingly there are some bready malt notes, the body is lean but there is some residual sweetness; the ginger and the citrus are evident, and dominating, without being clownesque.
If I have to find a point, I'd say that a Maibock is a boring beer which has some sweetness as almost unique character, and as such it was the right base to boost the ginger and the yuzu, for a result that reminds a candy.

Ginger and citrus. Clear gold with a small white head. Light caramel, ginger and some pleasant citrus. Quite decent.

473mL can, pours a clear pale golden blonde with a small white head. Aroma brings out lots of ginger upfront, followed by plenty of citrus, and cereal malt. Flavour actually blends the ginger and yuzu pretty nicely, with ample spiciness and ample juicy citrus. Surprisingly, this works pretty well. I like it.

Can. Deep gold colour, bright, but not much head. The aroma has a lot of both ginger and yuzu, with just a touch of pale malt. The pale malt base is clean, with a touch of alcohol, and serves as a framework for the refreshing ginger and yuzu notes. So maibock strenght, lots of refreshing quality...good balance. For a beer that sounds like it's going to be goofy, it tastes like it makes perfect sense.
