Alpha King's festive cousin. A big American Xmas Porter brewed with English chocolate malt, Mexican sugar and, of course, tons of strange American hops.

Bottle from a trade with StFun. Pours black with tan head. Aromas of roasted malts and pine hops. Burnt malts, coffee and chocolate flavors with lots of pine hops. Medium body with moderate carbonation. It’s a good beer but something about the flavor combinations doesn’t click for me. Thanks Josh.

Served on draft @ Map Room in Chicago. This is the hoppiest porter I’ve ever had, but then again it’s Three Floyd’s so I can’t say I’m surprised. Aroma is very unique, upon first sniff the first word that came to mind was \"fresh\", which sounds pretty stupid but whatever. It’s more hoppy than anything else, which is odd for a porter but I’m into it. Would recommend.

22 oz bottle. Pours black with a very large tan head. Aroma is rich, deep chocolate and vanilla, some dark fruits. Strong flavors of smoke, coffee, and bitter cocoa backed by vanilla and cream. Lasting bitter coffee finish. This is exactly what an imperial porter should be.

Bottle @ jbrus. Dark color, brownish head. Aroma of coffee, spices, chocolat, cocoa. HIgh carbonation, which disturbs the taste actually. Bit off-balanced.

Bottle, shared @ jbrus’s place. Chocolate, cacao and licorice in the aroma. Spicy flavor (nutmeg, cardemom). Malty sweetish with coffee and ’Koetjesrepen’ (cheap Dutch chocolate for children without cacao). Spicy in the finish.

Thanks to STLWill for this one. I thought I had it previously but this was my first time. It is an excellent beer. Full, heavy mouthfeel. Big hop aroma for a porter. Flavor has malt and dry coffee, as well as more hops, and really a lot of them for a porter. Brown colored, fairly thick, and thick, khaki colored head.

22 ounce bottle shared by cdumler. Pours a very dark and very opaque brown color. Medium head with average head retention and lacing. Aroma is chocolate, toffee, coffee and spicy, herbal hops. Minty hops, roasted malts, caramel and chocolate in the taste. Full bodied and extraordinarily well balanced.

courtesy of kiefdog. Pours brown with beige head and nice yellow lacing. Aroma has plenty of pine hops and light roasted malts with coffee. I really got the feeling of dipping my nose in a pine forest. Taste is roasted malts with coffee and chocolate, light floral hops. After taste was a lot closer to a stout than a porter. Highly drinkable.
