Imperial pint draft at the brewpub. Easy drinking and smooth, the session light beer. Rather well done Kolsch actually, leaning more to the malty side of the spectrum. Filtered orange-tan color. Fresh malt and hop aroma. Refreshingly well done.

Tap(2006). Caramel and barley malt aroma. Clear orange amber color with moderate head. Slightly sweet malt flavor with moderate hops present throughout. Hops flavor much more up front than is typical for the style but gives this one more body and works well. Another great 3F brew./ Bottle (2012) Dusty lemon and lactic malt aroma. Golden yellow with large head. Musty , slightly stale barley malt flavor. Will average this a bit - liked it way better in 2006 - possibly due to freshness.

Draft, and 3F’s, 8/14/06 This beer is back after two years; finally a chance to revisit it. Nice pale ale-ish color, with a touch of cloudiness under an inch-thick head that stays pretty frothy. Smell is more like a wit. Taste is much less grainy than before, much more malty. Nicely rides that line between ale and lager. In the middle of the glass, there’s a fine north German hop bitterness clinging to the back of the mouth. Then a hint of ale fruitiness that again reminds me of something Belgian. Finish is almost syrupy. Yes, much better than before.Original rating 7/14/04, rated 2.3. Draft, poured by Nic Floyd. Can this be? A 3F that’s not that great??! Well, maybe the tap was off because I tasted nothing like the descriptions here. I got a big off-flaver of raw grain. Mild citrus hop could not make up for it. I will have to re-sample sometime.
