On tap at Bastard, pours a hazy amber with a small beige head. Aroma brings out toasted caramel, bready malt and a nice resinous hop character. Flavour is assertive for the style, with a nice balance between resinous hops, toasted caramel, and bready malt. Dry, with an ideal balance between hops and malt. This is no weak-ass amber - very nice.

Keg at Bastard, Reykjavik. It pours rich amber with a small white cap. The aroma is sweet, oily, wood, leather, resin, brown bread and earth. The taste is dry, wood, twig, resin, leather, toasty grain, leafy hops, spice and a touch of caramel with a dry finish. Medium body and fine, prickly carbonation. Tastes a bit like and English bitter in reality. A bit earthy and spicy. Fair.
