500ml bottle. Superb clear darkest ruby red colour with average to huge, frothy to creamy, half-way lasting, moderately lacing, beige head. Aroma has fruity notes of red berries, a slight grainy and yeasty touch. Taste has gentle roasted barley notes, some husk, a touch of milk chocolate, cautious hints of dried dark fruit, integrated bitter hop notes.

Bottled (From AbM). Deep coppery brown colour, close to black, with a small beige head, that leaves some lace. Aroma is coffee, mild rye, some ripe fruits as well as mild toffee and some mild syrupy notes. Flavour is ripe dry fruits, some chocolate, mild toasted notes as well as some mild nuttyness and mild syrupy sweetness as well. Quite a bodied beer, although being only 4 % in the abv.

Pours deep mahogany into an english pint. Tan head with good retention recedes leaving sheet lacing. Sweet dark caramel aromas. Thin with dark caramel and pit fruit upfront turning slightly metallic in the lasting bitter soy finish.

Bottle from Tesco. Clear reddish brown pour with a thin tan quickly dispersing head. Weak, slightly malty aroma, leading to a smooth, malty flavour with hints of chocolate and liquorice. A lovely ale.
