Our Summer Saison is a delicious golden farmhouse ale, brewed with orange peel, ginger, and grains of paradise. A very refreshing, Belgian-inspired summer ale.

Bottled, from Ølbutikken, Copenhagen. Hazy pale yellow, small head. Lactic nose with citrus and saffron. Mid dry with light body and crisp, spritzy mouthfeel. Fresh with lightly grainy malt, notes of perfume and orange. Low bitterness. Nicely drinkable.

22 ounce bottle. Hazy pale gold color topped by a rocky white head. Fragrant lemon peel aroma hints at grainy, wheat malt. Refreshing light malt flavor. Citrus peel upfront but a quick fade to a dry hop midtaste with some peppery hops in the finish. No notice of ginger at all. A good hot weather ale, but not in the Green Flash wheelhouse. I expected more hops.

(Bottle, 0.65 l, courtesy of rosenbergh, 20120721) The beer poured golden and quite clear. Its head was medium sized and white. Aroma had fruitiness, spices and sourness. Palate was medium bodied with highish carbonation. Flavours were spices, fruitiness, malts, sweetness, hops and bitterness. Aftertaste was spicy fruity and bitter. A thin and light saison but taste and aroma were quite good. Adding yeast brought the farmhouse characteristics to the beer.

Location: Draft at Iron Monkey, 6/28/12, as Saison Diego
Aroma: The nose is yeast, spice, light funk, grass, and fruity notes
Appearance: Pours a clearish yellow color with a small-mid off-white head
Flavor: The taste is mid-sweet, some spice, and a some lightly funky flavors
Palate: The body is fairly light, with lively carbonation, and a lot of drinkability
Overall Impression: I liked this one. A nice saison from Green Flash. I would definitely drink this one again. It makes for a nice summer beer.

Lightly hazy golden with a large, rocky head. Aroma has zesty fruit, light yeast, a bit of grass. Flavor is much the same with a nice bite on the finish. Refreshing and tasty if not all that complex. Makes for a good porch saison.

22oz bottle labeled as "Saison Diego", picked up at Bevmo
Appearance: Pours slightly hazy yellow with a medium sized white head and spotty lacing
Aroma: Banana esters, spices and yeasty
Taste: Banana esters, malty, grassy with a spicey finish
This is decent, but more of a ramped up hefe., or light saison.

Bomber bought @ Ølbutikken. Bottle labeled Saison Diego. Pours tiny hazy deep golden with a big frothy white head that slowly dissipates while leaving some trace and lacing on the glass. Smell is sweet and yeasty with bread dough, hay, lemon zest, green grapes, plums, ginger, white pepper, coriander seeds and hints of biscuits and dried herbs and flowers. Taste is sweet and yeasty with crackers, ginger, white pepper, dried herbs like lemon balm, basil and oregano, dough, orange zest, hay and hints of dry soil and yeasty ester. Mouthfeel is tiny crisp, tiny watery, tiny dry, very tiny sticky sweet and light to medium bodied. Finish is tiny sweet, slightly bitter and floral with biscuits, dried herbs and flowers, orange peal, white pepper and hay. Refreshing but would have preferred it drier.
