Taster at Alibi Room. Pours a hazy pale golden with a white head. Aroma is crispy tropical fruits. Taste is piney bitterness, quite crispy with some malty notes. It is quite good, like the mix of the old and new school IPAs.

Very pale, especially for a beer this strong. Thin head. Aroma is cat pee...so citra? (evidently some people find this character in simcoe but that’s the first time for me)... And lime, kiwi, mango hop. Taste has a fair bit of pale malt, almost doughy (this would be better at a couple degrees less gravity), and the alcohol makes its presence felt on the tongue.

Draught at the brewery
Hazy blond color. The hoppy aroma has a lemon tea character. The mouthfeel is lean and quite dry, possibly the fermentation has worked a bit too much because there is also some chemical byproduct; delicate malt flavor with a hint of hay; strong bitterness with plenty of hop oils and some orangey fruitiness.
It’s not heavy like other DIPAs, but I don’t think I could drink much of it; in its own way it’s a bit cloying.

Draught in a taster glass. Murky gold with a medium head. Aroma is biscuity. Flavour is biscuit, herb and forest on a sweet base. A little sticky on the finish

473mL growler, pours a cloudy golden with a small white head. Nose brings out piney and floral hoppy goodness, with some dry biscuity malt to back. Flavour brings out piney hops, juicy resin, and biscuity malt, with a very slight / subtle sweetness to balance the heavy hops. The sweetness becomes more pronounced with each additional sip, not the point of it being cloying, but there is definitely a bit too much. Still, good stuff.
