This beer is brewed during the hop harvest with a portion of unkilned or “wet” hops fresh off the vine. Apricot in color, Broo Doo’s nose has dominant orange, pine sap and floral notes, balanced by a glazed nut and toffee malt body. This celebration of the hop harvest has intense tropical fruit, citrus and spicy accents that showcase the complexity of the hops we all love. October release.

Bomber courtesy of Secret Santa thetomG. Thanks! Pours a hazy amber color with a large frothy white head. Good head retention and thick rings of lacing. Aroma of strong citrus hops, grapefruit especially, some peppery hop notes. A good amount of caramel malts balances things out fairly well. The taste is earthy, resiny hops with citrus and candied citrus notes and a leafy finish. Caramel and some faint nutty notes as well. A bit of a lingering hop burn. This probably has a couple months on it, but the hops and the bitterness are holding up well. Nice beer.

22oz Bottle thanks to inflatablehair. Pours out a amber topped with a sandy head. Aroma was of citrus hops (grapefruit peel) all over the nose along with some sweet caramel. Taste was more of the citrus hop along with a nice balance of floral notes and the sweet caramel malts to balance it out.

Bottle at The Cad’s Pure Mad Rocket Mon The Beezer Tasting. Pours clearish orange with a fine, white head. Huge pine and citrus hop aroma with some honey malts. Flavor is just outstanding and makes the beer hugely drinkable. Lots of tropical fruits, grapefruit and caramel. Bitterness is strong but not at all abrasive. Body is medium to full with average carbonation and nice warmth. The finish has dstinct pine and resin, with more big fruits and plenty of sweet maltiess. Super smooth. Extremely fresh and clean. Superb.

I purchased this with help of a Groupon at Schaefer’s in Evanston, IL; enjoyed on a very cool Monday night, getting home at 6 PM and it’s dark already, leaves are falling off the trees. Perfect weather to drink this brew. Aroma of crazy fresh hops, pine needles, and leaves. I think 3 Floyds found a way to bottle the last two months of October in the midwest. Appearance is a cloudy gold with a thin, pronounced head. Taste dominated by potent hops but it’s very smooth while remaining bitter. Other reviews have been stating a tropical fruit (pineapple, tangerine, grapefruit) finish and I have to agree. Rather complex for the style and definitely one of the best I’ve had, which is why it’s a punishment it’s $10 for a 22 oz bottle. Oh well, you get what you pay for.

Bottle from Archer Liquors. Pours orange/copper with a decent foamy white head. Heavy duty citrus hop aroma. Medium body with almost creamy carbonation. Flavor is mostly citrus hop over mildly roasted caramel. This is a really hoppy, tasty beer.

Bottle: Poured a dirty amber color ale with a quite large foamy head with good retention and very good lacing. Aroma of earthy hops and dry caramel malt with nice overtones of floral hops. Taste is also dominated by earthy hops with floral undertones and some dry caramel malt backbone which is well balanced in support of all the hops. Body is quite full with great carbonation. Very well done and not a full hops assault as this brewery seems to do very well but a more balanced approach which is very efficient.
