(500ml 2018 bottle c/o my girl Phyllomedusa) Pours near-black with a thin but persistent medium tan head and no lace. Aroma is very fruity with notes of red berry, blueberry and blackberry over lightly sweetened cocoa powder, dusty roast, soft vanilla, oak, some bright pale citrus acidity, touch of vinegar, maybe some leather. Flavour is high acid (especially lactic but with some dark fruit/balsamic acetic tones too), sour forest berries (currant, blackberry, cherry), as the mouth adapts to the acidity there's a little dusty chocolate and toasty roast, leather, orange peel, oak, berry pip astringency, chewy tannin in the finish which is drying but still heavily acidic with haskap, bitter citrus, dusty dry cocoa and oak. Light-bodied, slick, very fine carbonation. This is a complicated style for me because the roasted and acidic elements are tough to knit, and I feel the same way here. The nose is excellent.

Bottle at Weathered, pours black with a medium tan head. Aroma is loaded with tart red fruits, some oak, and wild yeast. Flavour is along the same lines, with tart dark fruits, some balsamic and oak. Very sour fruit on the finish. Not bad.

650 ml bottle Pours a very dark brown with light head. Aromas of balsamic vinegar, slick roasted malts and sour dark fruit. Flavors follow same with more plum skin. A little too tart for a dark sour. OK but definitely not worth the price. Dark sours are tough. Minus a point.
