Even if this was released recently, there's plenty of old, oxidized notes: leather, tobacco, wet cardboard; there's some good malt, some acidity, thinking of raisins juice, light notes of cacao, but also very hot alcohol.
Interesting, but it didn't find the balance.

Opaque amber colour, flat, no head. Smell of old Barley Wine, tobacco, dust, maybe raisins. Sweet, oily, flat, dusty, some raisins flavour, with alcoholic and dusty finish.
Weird.

Lots of woody notes and touch of spicy cedar. Clearish copper. Sticky and sweet cedar notes. Finish has some apricot.

I mean it doesn't look like a lot. Dullish hazy amber-brown, light. No head. Rich, with a big boozy hit, a sort of barrel clusterF, some tannins, alcohol. I'm getting raisins, and very crushable.

16.9 oz. bottle, pours a murky dark amber, no head. Aroma is loaded with calvados and bourbon upfront, with plenty of heat, toasted caramel, and vinous notes. Flavour is intense, with lots of booze, lots of barrels, especially calvados and bourbon, with some vinous notes, and caramel. Totally flat and very harsh. I'm not sure this loves up to the famed quality of many HotD beers.

Dark brown body, no head. Medium plum smoke and malt aroma. Malty body with plum and a little smoke and barrel. No alcohol burn

From a bottle at the brewery. Pours a ruby hue, no head. A big sweet brandy like nose, malty, berries. Huge flavor, smooth, sweet bready base, big and clearly tastes a lot like Doggie Claws, big vinous barrels, light heat, some berries again. The barrel all work well, the brandy and vinous flavors dominate the bourbon. Damn good, will get better. The lack of carb didn't bother me at all, and was intentional. Sort of crosses from beer into the territory of a spirit. Cool label.
