12% a great mellow brown pour with a light beige head, fantastic nose of malty caramel, it has a kind of dark wood vibe. Sweet, smokey, caramel, not boozy but with a nice warmth heading down. Silky smooth mouthfeel. Sweet fruity hit first, a touch of smoke then caramel-ultra tasty. Is this barrel aged? It has that kind of notes, a bready sweet fantastic beer. Nose 10, Taste 10

Bottle - Red wine vinegar, some sweet plum notes and a bit of raisin. Cloudy brown orange with almost no head. Sweet plum, grape, a slight earthy hop character, caramel and a long finish. IBU and alcohol are pretty well balanced and I could barely tell either were as high as they are. This English style barley wine is very light and subtle, and very nice.

Sampled @ RB Danish Summer Gathering 2013 day 2, Ulfborg. Bottle. Lightly unclear orange color, medium sized quickly diminishing off - white head. Quite surprisingly not a lot of aroma there. Flavor is less intense than I had expected as well. Malts, lightly alcohol, a bit sweetish and the ripe fruits that should be in a barley wine. In the end it’s a pretty good barley wine though. The alcohol is quite well hidden even though you clearly taste the warming alcohol in your throat and in the beginning it’s not really complex but it does get there. Quite impressed after all. Full body, medium carbonation.
