Brown black, beige head. Aroma of caramel, coffee, raisins, banana, figs, dark fruits. Sweet flavour, brown sugar, alcohol, roasted malts, coffee, rum, bourbon, loads of vanilla. Very full body. Finish bourbon, vanilla, loads of brown sugar, rum, banana. Whoah, nice! Much better than I was expecting even.
(from 75cL bottle @ first tasting in the new house. From trade, thanks! 2013 vintage)

Bottle. Vinous aroma with milk chocolate and bourbon vanilla in the background. Extremely sweet taste. Notes of caramel, toasted cocao and vanilla. Warming alcohol in the aftertaste.

Bottle shared@CBC Clerkenwell, London (03/06/2015) - pours black with tan/beige head. Sweet and roasted malty aroma and taste with chocolate, coffee, treacle, dark dried fruits, some vanilla, bourbon infused wooden notes, roasted finish. A very overt boozy beast :)

Aroma is big and abrasive roast, dark malts, treacle, liquorice. coconut. Vanilla, solvent. Flavour is big roast. Coconut, vanilla. Solventy alcohol, coco, cakey malts. . palate is full and sticky, velvelty. Solvent. Fruit cake. Vinous. A bit too abrasive for me.

Waxed, capped 750 from Marcus. Pours very dark brn/blk with dark bubbles. Alcohol aroma with chocolate, dark fruits, old wood. Fruit must be eclipsing the malt. Full bodied to the extreme. Flavor is alcohol, very plummy, chocolate, vanilla, old wood, oxidation notes. Let’s add very dark treacle. Maybe coffee, maybe not. The alcohol is somewhat dominating the conversation. I like the pluminess part a lot.

Bottle, Boise imperial stout tasting, thanks syndicate for sharing! Dark brown pour, thick and syrupy, minimal brown head. Nose is sweet; vanilla and chocolate, oak, and booze. Smooth and rich flavor of vanilla, cocoa, bourbon. Like Chocolate Rain it’s boozy, but not in a bad way. This is smoother and more refined; the layers of flavor seem deeper... I don’t really know how to feel about this as it’s super sweet and over the top, but this is just rad.
