Arthur (1922-2005) was our grandfather’s youngest brother; Hill Farmstead Brewery rests upon the land that was once home to him and his 13 siblings. In his honor, this Farmstead® ale is crafted from American malted barley, American and European hops, our distinctive farmhouse yeast and water from our well. Unfiltered and naturally carbonated, this is the ale that I dream to have shared with Arthur.

Nice fizzy-creamy mediumlasting head, clear golden. Aroma is slightly dry sour-ish mineraly, citrus peel, brett, minerals, weeds, soda powder, grass, flowers, oak, hay, bark, leafs, fruit stones. Taste is slightly dry sour-ish fruity, soda powder, brett, citrus peel, flowers, hay, minerals, grass, oak, fruit stones, bark, hints of citrus acid. Medium bitterness, slightly dry sour-ish fruity mouthfeel. Nice.

Bottle from the brewery, bottled 2017 08 18. Pours a hazy golden colour with a white cap, good stay and lacing. Wild funk aromas with sourness from lemon citrus notes and Belgian Ale yeast. The taste is pretty sour at first, but gets a little tamer with time. Kind of like pure lemon juices with the funk slightly lingering. Quite a nice experience!

That's how you do it. Sweeter than classic dupont, but sparkly, appley and fresh. Great stuff.

On tap at Threes Brewing, Brooklyn. Pours hazy golden, medium dense lasting white head. Citrus, more fruit, yeast, barnyard, lemon, dough, very nice tartness, spices. Dry. Medium+ carbonation. Balanced and refreshing. Very nice.

Smells tart, hoppy, spicy with some funk.
Taste hoppy and spicy with a bit of funk, some resemblance to a traditional Saison.
Easy drinking medium bodied and carbonated brew.
