Connecticut Ave Wine and Liquor, DC 11.2oz ($5): I was surprised to find this bottle for $5 at a store that sells everything else for an absurd price. In any case, the pours is very nice: an almost brown color with a tan head. The aroma is leaving something to be desired (and this bottle is not too old, as the cap says 16/12/11); in any case, there is some yeast, subtly fruity hops, and some sugary malts in there. The beer itself is very well-balanced. The hops are not in the extreme and they do a good job of blending with the malts. There is a mild aftertaste that lingers and is pleasant in its own right. This is a good beer, once you get around to tasting it.

Hazy amber with an off-white head. Aroma is malty, caramel and rather hoppy - grapefruit and grass. Flavor is rather sweet and very bitter. Dry and bitter finish. Very nice. 021210

0.33l bottle from Valken, Bergen. Pours a dark orange, hazy as hell body with a big creamy just off white head. Quite anonymous nose actually, but I got some quite fruity hops and some citrus hints. Lively carbonated and a nice medium body. Refreshing, good! Really bitter hops that lasts for quite a while.

11.2oz bottle-thanks decaturstevo for picking out-pours a off white head and amber color. Aroma is herbal, musty, medium malt. Taste is dry resin/herbal hop bite, musty, bready-medium malt. Hop profile is actually better after sitting open overnight & finishing it the next day +.2 (same with the Centennial)

Lighter bodied a touch of candied apples and caramel. For whatever reason, this isnβt as balanced as the other Single hops. A touch higher alcohol and more body would work great. Decent, but all the same.

Bottle from Samβs Quick Stop on 08/15/2010. Bottle code 22/10/10. Fairly clear copper body with a small frothy off-white head. Sweet catty and resiny hop aroma with some caramel. Big resiny flavor with some catty character and a big bitter finish. Medium body with moderate carbonation.

From a 330ml bottle on 2/9/2010. Pours cloudy with prominent citrus fruit and floral aromas. Has a great bitter sweet balance, with fruity flavours dominating, ranging from plum to grapefruit. The texture is fairly creamy. Has a fairly assertive and satisfying hop finish. A superior IPA.

Tap at Rattle n Hum. Pours a hazy amber with an average, off-white head. Mostly pine in the aroma, along with some grapefruit. Flavor is quite earthy, with moderate sweetness and plenty more pine. Medium bodied and resiney. Dry in the finish. Good, though not my favorite from the Single Hop series.
