The Monk’s Stout Dupont is part of the Brewery Dupont’s history. Indeed, it was produced in the 50’s. The aim is to revive this stout while maintaining the name and the design of the time.
Created in 2011, this dark beer is characterized by a dry and bitter taste. The use of roasted malts lends a well-pronounced taste of coffee and chocolate. The hop flavours remain perceptible though.
Top fermentation beer with a refermentation in the bottle.

Bottle at home. Black with tan head. Sweet roasted malts, ground coffee, pure cocoa, licorice, melasse. Moderate sweet with moderate bitter, hint of salt, tart in its tail. Medium to full body. Dry burnt ashy finish, chocolatey aftertaste. Overall a bit watery and thin.

0.33l bottle. Black body, huge and lasting light-brown head. Aroma of chocolate, cherry, blackberry and coffee with some funkyness. Taste of chocolate, blackberry, floral hops and orange zest. Light-medium bodied and quite easy to drink. Nice one.

330ml bottle. Pours an opaque, dark brown, almost black with a huge, frothy, long lasting, beige head that laces. Roasted malt aroma with caramel, dark fruit and dark chocolate. Sweet flavour of roasted malt, dark chocolate, dark fruit, caramel and liquorice with a dry, mildly bitter, coffee finish. Medium body with an oily texture and soft carbonation. Ok.

Dark brown to black colored, yeast sediment, small beige to tan non lasting head. Aroma is yeast, roasted malt, chocolate and bit roasty acidity. Taste is medium to low sweet malt, roasted malt, some chocolate, lots of yeast, peppery-spicey, some burnt malt, hints of acidity. Dry roasty and peppery finish. Medium- bodied and moderate carbonation. You can tell it’s a Belgian brew and not a very thrilling stout... (bottle, Scout Club Irish Pub, Samobor, CRO)

Zwart bier met weinig schuim. Smaak is bitter en rokig, tevens heel licht zoet en droog. Verder iets van caramel.

Tap at Pigalle. Pours a deep black with a nice soapy cappuchino colored head that lingers throughout. Classic Brasserie Dupont yeast on the nose with some dark fruit, cacao and roasted malt. The taste is very roasty with slight bit of coffee and fruit and coffee as it warms. The yeast really drives the flavor along with the roasty malt. Bone dry finish with roasted malt. Very nice and very Belgian.
