The Monk’s Stout Dupont is part of the Brewery Dupont’s history. Indeed, it was produced in the 50’s. The aim is to revive this stout while maintaining the name and the design of the time.
Created in 2011, this dark beer is characterized by a dry and bitter taste. The use of roasted malts lends a well-pronounced taste of coffee and chocolate. The hop flavours remain perceptible though.
Top fermentation beer with a refermentation in the bottle.

(330ml bottle from Systembolaget) Pours black with a big off white head of froth with some lace. Aroma of burnt, very ashy malt, oxidized notes, a bit of dark fruit, a little smoky, touch of chocolate. Quite Belgian. Palate is fairly light with dry, heavily roasted and ashy malt, a touch of cacao bean, liquorice, oxidization, a little dried fruit type yeast character. Very dry, ashy roasted finish, touch of milk chocolate, lightly bitter. Short aftertaste. Quite light in the body with a slightly watery feel and moderate carb. Not bad for a fairly low ABV Belgian stout. Quite drinkable if not exciting.

Svart med høyt lys brunt skum som legger seg fort. Lukter tigerbalsam, lakris og noe kakaopulver. Smaker salt lakris, noe bitter mørk sjokolade. Lett stout, med kort avslutning.
