A classic rendition of a Belgian wit, The White Lodge is brewed with a large portion of wheat along with pilsner malt and oats. We use coriander and orange peel in the kettle, lending a blend of citrus and floral characters, and ferment with a traditional Belgian strain.

Can from Tavour. Pours clear gold with a creamy white head. Aroma of coriander with a zest note. Near med body. Dry and moderately bitter. Flavor is coriander, zest and light malt support. Wheat is discernible. It nails the style.

Can pour from Valley Beverage. Yellow with tons of sparkle, finger-width head with poor retention and no lacing. Aroma is wheat, pilsner malts, tart citrus peel, coriander, yeast. Taste follows aroma. Light side of light-to-medium bodied, smooth, frothy texture, soft carbonation and finish as taste. The elements are here but the citrus and coriander play second fiddle to the wheat and malts. OK.

Poured from 473mL can from FHF. Cloudy yellow with full white head. Coriander, mild citrus, wheat, touch of hops, well made, but nothing stands out. Enjoyable, but a little too much hop for the style.

16 oz can from Tavour. Golden/yellow, hazy, finely beaded head. Big Belgian yeasty aroma, sourdough. Taste adds notes of lemon and orange, more bready notes and that yeast. Full bodied. Well crafted.
