Clear dark golden to amber colour, moderate sized creamy head; aroma of wet grainy, and slight floral and fruity notes, taste of hoppá bitterness with some biscuity-malta sweetness; good one

Cask at Rose and Thistle, Frimley Green. Vague doughy aroma. Pale gold - surprisingly, at least for me, it's quite hazy. Blotchy white head. After an IPA it seems lacking in flavour - light citrus with a malty backbone. Biscuity. Light-medium bodied but watery. Flat carbonation. Abrupt Finish. Perhaps not at its best. Refreshing enough on the bland side bitter.

First pint off a new barrel at The Salisbury Arms in Winchmore Hill. Two pints during the evening and it was superb. A brilliantly made classic English bitter with perfectly balanced malt and bitter hops. A gorgeous colour in the glass and a low abv. When this is good (like this) then it is very good.
