Softening the lines between wine and beer, we combined pressed chardonnay grape juice with a tart ale, steeped it on dried elderflower and sweet woodruff, then fermented it with a saison yeast. Enjoy the refreshing character of white wine with the tartness of a sour ale and the raw farmhouse flavours of a saison.

Pours with excellent white foam on a semi-cloudy gold body, the aroma is soft wine and apple cider notes. Flavour is nice white wine, soft grain, and more cider coming through. Mouthfeel is full and smooth. It's very nice, gentle and sweet in all the right ways.

On tap at the Alibi Room, pours a clear pale blonde with a small white head. Aroma brings reveals the Chardonnay upfront, with saison yeast and a touch of funk. Flavour is unusual, with lots of citrus, floral notes, and saison yeast, with an oaky, citric finish. Can't say I detect the grapes or woodruff. Odd beast - not all that good, but it's interesting.

Slight haze, medium head but a dull sort of tan. Funky sweaty yeast nose, but tastes much, much better. Deep Chardonnay fruitiness, touch of wood, full body, little bit of tartness. Tastes pretty good.
