6th June 2010. On tap at Brasserie 4:20.
Last beer of the RBESG 10 trip - how ironic it ended up being an English Bitter. Certainly did not make me feel homesick! Cloudy brown beer, little tan head. Light and very dry palate. Caramel malt with a little hop bitterness but the way over dry palate really detracts. I’m heartily sick of over dry English beers - just stop it! I drink beer for thirst and pleasure not to mimic having a mouthful of sand! Original rating 2.2

2nd August 2010. Thornbridge event at the Cask & Kitchen.
Clear brown beer with a little cream head. Light semi dry palate. Tea like malt with a little citrus. Whisper of sulphur. Malt turns a little creamy. Finishes fruity. Well balanced and decent. A much better experience than my first tasting of this!

Cask@The Marble, Manchester. Clear reddy brown colour with a thin off white head. Nose had well defined hoppage and sweet malts all in proportion as did the flavour which had notes of cherry and nuts ; leading to a bitter finish that hit the spot very nicely. Clean, understated and tasty. Usual top quality from Thornbridge.
