Aroma of roasted malts, caramel, coffee, chocolate. Flavour is roasty, medium to heavy sweet, with a light to moderate bitter finish. A bit on the thin side for an Imperial Stout. Still, it’s a pretty tasty beer that I wouldn’t mind drinking again.

Tap @ Arendsnest. Deep dark brown color. Maltaroma with hints of pear drups and licorice. Some roast next to the malty, somewhat sticky sweetness. Pear drups. Just a bit thin.

Opaque dark brown, small frothy tan head, mostly lasting, minimal lacing. Aroma roasted malts, dark fruits, cocoa, spicy notes. Taste light heavy sweet and medium bitter, malty, chocolate. Sweetbitter aftertaste, peat, medium body, oily texture, soft carbonation, very nice.

Thuis uit een flesje, samen met H. Zwarte kleur, lekke geur, past prima bij de gerookte eendeborst en paté. Volle smaak, heerlijk voor de winter.

0.33 l bottle from ’De Bierkoning’, best before February 2017. Very dark red to black with a thin, frothy, quickly diminishing, tan to brown head. Sweetish-malty, slightly roasty aroma of milk chocolate, fudge, vanilla and some coffee. Sweetish, roasty-malty taste of milk chocolate, vanilla, fudge and some coffee, followed by a short, moderately roasty-bitter finish. Thin to medium body, slightly creamy mouthfeel, average carbonation. Quite thin for that abv, faint flavours, still drinkable of course. Below average though.

33cl bottle. Poured jet black with a thin brown head. Licorice root, soy sauce sticky, oily stuff. Roasted, bit ashy flavor. Quite sweet, don’t really mind the soy here. Hides abv nicely. Balanced.
