330ml Bottle Conditioned: poured into a Westmalle chalice at home on 23 July 2013. Looked very inviting: deep, dark black body with an impressive inch thick tanned foam head. The smokiness hits the nose and taste buds with an intense smack. Close your eyes and you could be in Bamberg: smoked ham esters fill your senses and thoughts. Really interesting and different, the Rye as well as yeast notes arrived as the beer warmed in the chalice, this is both complex and by far the best beer from Brodies I’ve had so far. Thanks to a London based American (Leighton) for gifting this bottle to me: hope he liked the exchange beers.
