Inspired by West Coast IPAs, but brewed with Michigan style. The Crooked Tree is heavily dry hopped to give it a big aroma of pine and citrus. The flavors are big, yet very balanced between fresh hops and malt. Often described as "grapefruit" our hops give this beer an excellent fruit flavor that finishes dry.

At a private tasting in Serbia with markoijelena and luttonm. "Pour it" clear Amber cloudy with a little nice creamy off white head. Nose: quite a Easy Coast feel, Amber malts, caramel feel. Mouth: caramel, smoked cheese, bitter and dry end. Liked it. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle at Ölrepubliken. Amber looking, foam quickly sinking leaving no lacings, a slight lid on the surface. Aroma is soft, almost velvety fruity, pine, mango, flowers, citrus. Taste is also slight soft initially, with pine, slight caramel, citrus, leading up to a sudden dry finish. The taste went over very fast. Not that hoppy attack as the description suggests (though it might have been an old bottle). Medium body, light to medium carbo, slight round and oily texture.

Aroma: The aroma is fruit, wood, and a little caramel, with some strong, sweet grapefruit
Appearance: It pours a murky looking orange color with a small beige head and light, drippy lace
Flavor: The sweetness dissipates a bit in the flavor, still grapefruity, with caramel, and a bitter finish
Palate: The body is medium, it has an average carbonation, and a mid-dry finish
Overall Impression: This isn't a top of style IPA for me, but it is a solid beer. The hops don't quite hit the right note.

355ml bottle from Beers of Europe. Pours clear amber, thin off-white head. Aromas of resin and pine, US hoppy max. Taste is sweet at first, crystal malt, caramel, then a big wallop of hop bitterness. Oily texture. Good.

Bottle @ Moeder Lambic Sint-Gillis. Orange amber colour, white foam. Hoppy aroma with notes of citrus and grapefruit. Malty. Refreshing. Light sweet, light bitter finish.

This was poured into a pint glass.
The appearance was a nice gentle rolling red to orange color with a nice one finger white foamy head that dissipated within less than a minute. There was some nice foamy lacing that tried to stick but it slid into the beer.
The smell was a gentle somewhat sharp bitter citrusy hops that let some light caramel malts enter in as it warmed.
The taste was mainly bitter through the hops and it had nice sharp bitter citrus aftertaste that led to a nice dry finish.
On the palate, it sat about a light to medium in body and displayed a fairly sessionable quality about it. The carbonation was nice and sharp for an AIPA.
Overall, I say this was a pretty good AIPA well worthy of having again.

Draft. Served in a shaker. Hazy amber color with soapy head and lace. Aroma is citrus base with grapefruit and oranges. Flavor is nice and balanced. Large amount of grain and toffee\ caramel mats. Hops are a nice blend of citrus and floral notes. The malts are in nice unisen. Bitterness lingers for a moderate duration after the sip. Body is medium leaning on the full side.

Drought. Slightly hazy orange-yellow appearance with off-white foamy head, lavender like floral aroma, low carbonation, balanced hoppy taste with floral overtones, low carbonation, abrupt finish. Nice and smooth, but tastes more like American pale ale.
