Explore the extremes of hops, and experience all of their bitterness, flavor and aroma with this Double I.P.A. An extreme, super-assertive and satisfying amount of American hop character is balanced with a toasty, caramelized, intense malt presence.

Keg at Cask Pub and Kitchen, Pimlico, London. A hazy amber coloured pour with a medium white head on top. Hoppy, citrus, pine aroma. Tastes hoppy, sweet, mango, pine, malty, caramel. Decent Double IPA but not the best by any means.

22 ounce bottle into tulip glass, no bottle dating. Pours cloudy orange amber color with a 1-2 finger dense light khaki head with great retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Some nice foamy lacing clings to the glass. Aromas of big grapefruit, pine resin, caramel, mango, orange rind, pineapple, floral, and herbal spiciness. Very nice aromas with good complexity and balance. Taste of grapefruit, orange zest, caramel, pine, herbal, floral, grass, mango, pineapple, toast, and piney spiciness. Good amount of spicy bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of citrus, pine, pineapple, caramel, toast, and herbal spiciness on the finish for a good bit. Great balance and complexity of flavors; with a nice bitterness/sweetness balance as well. Minimal cloying bitterness after the finish. Medium carbonation and medium-full bodied; with a farly creamy, slick and sticky mouthfeel that is nice. Overall this is an excellent DIPA. Great hop flavor complexity and malt balance; very smooth to sip on. Really enjoyed this one.

65 cl bottle @ Kaisla, Helsinki 26.6.2012. Poured hazy amber, thick white head. Sweet tropical fruity hoppy aroma, some caramel as well. Flavor has tropical fruits, salty licorice, smoke in the bitter finish. Bit different flavor, but interesting. Another great brew from this brewery.

Tap at Craft Beer Co. It pours clear amber, with a thick off-white head. The nose is leather, spice, grass, leaf, resin and toasted malt. The taste is resin, pine, leaf, grass, sweet tinned fruit, hint of citrus, orange sherbet, Irn Bru, caramel, toast and metal, with a dry, bitter finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. A solid IIPA, but a bit too malt-forward to me.

Juicy tangerine nose with burnt caramel accents. Hazy copper, medium yellow head, full of floaties. Rosehips, overripe orange, sweet caramel initially. Finishes with bitter orange peel and resinous marigold. Interesting transitions, a little off-balance.. Rather in your face and boozy. Assertive, but excessive.
