Explore the extremes of hops, and experience all of their bitterness, flavor and aroma with this Double I.P.A. An extreme, super-assertive and satisfying amount of American hop character is balanced with a toasty, caramelized, intense malt presence.

Deep slightly hazy copper coloured body with a lot of amber highlights and a thin, fast-dying tan head...this is more amber than most imperial ipas. Aroma of thick malt, alcohol, sweet caramel and tons of sweet and bitter hops - nice dry hopping. Medium to Full-bodied; Assertive and pleasant bitter hops showing a lot of pine and floral tastes then fading to a robust maltiness, some caramel and a lot of alcohol. Aftertaste is very refreshing and very bitter from the hops - dry on the palate and showing some caramel and a bit of alcohol. Overall, a nice job on the imperial ipa - not a style i like much, but this one shows well. I wish it were a bit reduced in alcohol (but keep the hops) and served in a small bottle - these big beers in big bottles have to go. I sampled this 65 cL bottle purchased from Whole Foods in Clarendon (Arlington), Virginia on 12-May-2010, sampled at home in Washington on 20-May-2010.

bottle pours light amber with a medium off white head. Aroma is awsome. Lots of pine and resinous hop notes. Flavor does not dissapoint. Light toast and nutty malt character walloped with a heavy dose of pine and citrus hop bitterness that is extremely dry in the finish. Top notch.

Bottle from De Bierkoning, Amsterdam. Drunk@CC with Slothez. Apparently a Manalishi is some sort of money grabbing attention seeking whore...well the struttin frog caught me eye and this is a top class IPA ,dodgy connotations apart... Poured a slightly hazy orange colour with a medium sized frothy then lingering beige head. Aroma was caramelo malt and plenty of resin sodden pine hop, grapefruit, and a touch of yeast. Pretty full bodied affair. Taste was somewhat similar to the nose, slightly seweet with some robust citrus hop action . Lingering dry bitter finish. Winner.

Dark amber brown color. Big dry hopped pineapples, citrus, hemp, very heady nose. Raspberries, pineapples, very hoppy, but not bitter mouth, little backbone. Not sweet, very odd. Dry hopped to hell, but fun fun and fun. Wow. Unique and great. Very little bitterness in finish.

Botttle, as Hoppin’ Frog Mean Manalishi Double I.P.A., ABV 8.2%, at RBNAG 2009 in Vatlandsvåg. Deep orange to amber colour, hazy. Big off-white head with an orangey hue. Intense sickly sweetish aroma of stale and caramellized orange marmalade and loads of American hops, not very pleasant. Intense flavour of American hops, partly balanced by a substantial sweetness. The flavour is better than the aroma, but this is still not my favourite beer.
