Bottle from Firefly, Vancouver
Hazy golden color. Estery aroma of American yeast. Good body strength, strong flavor of anise, moderately sweet, strong alcohol. Quite cloying.

Hazy, thin head, light tan. On the nose, has some phenols and a touch of plastic. It's got a touch of plastic on the palate, too. Light body for the style. Fairly sweet. Needs more hop. Not totally offensive.

650ml bottle at Matt's. Pours a murky golden with a white head. Aroma is green apples with some alcohol notes. Similar taste. Harsh. Not good.

Bottle - Apple and pear with some sweet Estery notes. Clearish gold with a small white head. Lots of apple and some sweet fruity apple notes.

650mL bottle, pours a hazy amber golden with a small white head. Nose brings out Belgian yeast, candied sugar, and light fruity esters. Flavour is along the same lines, with plenty of sweet esters, candied sugar, and Belgian yeast. By no means is this an authentic tripel, but it's reasonably done. Finishes sweet, yeasty and estery.
