North East IPA
Hazy Daze North East IPA is packed full of as many hops as we could get in it. Brewing techniques, the use of malted oats, and a massive dry hop give this IPA big tangerine, grapefruit, nectarine, melon, guava, mango peel, sweet white grape must, and berry notes. This beer is completely focused on hop flavour and aroma and best enjoyed as fresh as possible.

On tap at their East Van taproom. Pours murky dull yellow with a white head. Sweet tropical fruit and a bit of yeast on the nose. Flavour is yeasty with grapefruit and overripe mango; finishes bitter with a slightly chalky mouthfeel. Pretty standard for a Vancouver hazy.

Poured from the tap. Feintly hazed blonde gold with small white head. Citrus hops, feint pith, okay.

473ml can. Pours a cloudy amber orange with a small, creamy, long lasting, off-white head that leaves curtains of lace. Sweet fruity aroma of bready pale malt, tangerine, mango, cantaloupe, nectarine and floral hops. Sweet fruity flavour of bready pale malt, grapefruit, orange, nectarine, cantaloupe, oats and light piney hops in a dry, mild bitter finish. Medium body with an oily, almost creamy texture and average carbonation. Tasty and enjoyable.

Can at Helijet. Has okay foam with foggy middling orange body. Smells of big sweet citrus cloying hops. Flavour is soft sweet hops of no distinction. Has a bit of chewiness and crispness. Very middle of the road.

Chill haze only. Medium head. Nose is vaguely fruit. Has a moderate bitterness and a fair bit of biscuity malt sweetness. Ok IPA, definitely misunderstanding the "hazy" style, and lacks the hop brightness to really impress.

On tap at Barney's, pours a cloudy golden yellow with a small white head. Aroma reveals a wonderful piney hop character, with some grapefruit pith and dry biscuity malt. Flavour follows accordingly, revealing notes of grapefruit pith, citrus hops, some yeast and biscuity malt. Pithy and ascorbic on the finish. Very nicely done.

Draught at Devil’s Elbow, Vancouver; 12oz
Cloudy golden color with generous creamy head. Nice hoppy aroma, a bit dank; I suspect some butter too. Smooth and creamy mouthfeel, a bit more malt than one would expect in a modern IPA, robust bitterness, with resiny hops and a mild dank feeling; unfortunately, there is some butter, and some chicory bitterness in the final.
Imprecise.
