Belgian Style - Quadrupel / Dark Strong Special|

Inspired by Trappist brewing traditions, Mio is a whiskey barrel aged take on a classic Belgian style Quadrupel. It is full-bodied with a complex malt base giving it notes of caramel, toffee and raisins. The special yeast strain employed adds aromatic notes of spice and tartness. A long warm ageing period in the whiskey barrels brings all the flavors together, makes the body well-rounded and imparts notes of vanilla, honey and spice.

Brown. Thin head. Sweet, lots of fruits, barrel? Nice fruity quad nose. Light, all kinds of alcohol, burns a bit but with a lot of fruity notes.

Bottle at Black Christmas 2017
Dark brown color. Light aroma of malt, anise, soap, alcohol. Strong alcohol flavor, some random malt, a bit earthy.
Ok beer, but not impressive.

750mL bottle, pours a deep dark brown with a small beige head. Aroma brings out brown sugar, bourbon barrel character, booze and caramel. Flavour is very complex, with booze, bourbon barrel, caramel and Belgian yeast. Very hot, but it works. The bourbon character is well-done and the Belgian character comes through just enough. Lovely.

Bottle - Dark fruit prune and nice barrel notes. Deep jet brown with a nice light brown head. Lots of great Sidon, prune and oaky notes.
