A North American style Amber Ale, brewed with our own fresh, whole-cone, estate-grown Mount Hood, Cascade and Nugget hops. Bold, with a pleasantly 'green' fresh-hop aroma and a nice bitter snap, this beer is balanced by deep flavours of aromatic specialty malts. Notes of caramel, citrus, biscuit, toffee. Originally brewed for Moby's pub on Salt Spring Island, our estate-hopped Whale Tale Amber Ale is as local as local gets

Bottle found on Saltspring Island. Pours with huge foam, not too dense though, and a rather stormy semi-murky brown body. The aroma is sweet biscuit, slight hops. Taste is mostly a wet biscuit with brown sugar notes. Finishes wet again. Smooth enough but there's not much going on here.

Bright copper, lasting beige head.Nondescript nose. Light sweet palate with a very late burst of hop bitterness

All butterscotch in nose and flavor. Why would someone make a beer to taste like it had diacetyl? Even if it didn’t?

On tap at St. Augustine's, pours a hazy amber with a small beige head. Aroma is very subdued, with doughy malt and very subdued hops. Flavour is similar, with doughy malt and soft woody hops. Soft palate, with low carbonation. Pretty ordinary, but clean at least. Meh.
