High Five is an American IPA brewed at Dugges since 2007. Five types of high alpha acid hops create a well-disposed bitterness and bring out abundant notes of grapefruit, tropical fruit and pine.

This beer is another one of those beers that has been around since our early years. Though, it has gone through some changes over time. We wanted to brew an American IPA. We wanted it to have and aroma from which you could pick up everything that you like with the style. To achieve this, we hopped and dry-hopped it with five, high alpha acid, American hops. And, almost by default, it got its name. High Five! Initially, this beer clocked in at 7.5%. But in order to make it a little lighter we took it down to 6.5.%. And, while the hops are still the same, we've increased the amount of hops and dry-hops numerous times. Because, times change. And, even though you got a hop-punch from this in 2007, the amount of hops in it then would not have given you one now. But since it's more, a lot more, you do!

Bottle from The Davis Beer Shoppe in Davis, CA. Pours hazy amber with a creamy off-white head. Mixed floral, light fruit and resin aromas. Med body. Flavor is mildly bitter floral and light fruit over some light caramel. It’s quite tasty. Finishes moderately bitter.

bottle from kihoskh. hazy orange, smooth large offwhite head. sweet aroma, flowers, candy, bubblegum, exotic fruits. sweet malts. complex hops aroma with many different aroma notes. flavor is sweet flowery, bubblegum, grapefruit and fruit peel bitterness, very sweet hoppy, also very bitter hoppy, gets a bit cloying, sweet malty note too. A very different IPA with loads of bitterness, that is balanced more by bubblegum and sweet flowery notes than the usual grapefruit, pine and perhaps exotic fruits. Personally i find it too sweet, nothing that elegantly matches the high bitterness.

(Draught at Bishops Arms Sankt Eriksgatan, Stockholm) The beer poured amber and cloudy. Head was medium sized and white. The aroma was quite hoppy. I found citicness and pine with malty background notes. Palate was medium bodied with very high carbonation. Also the taste was very hoppy. The flavours I found were pine, fruitiness, malts, mildly sweetness, some tangerine and medium bitterness. Aftertaste was fruity and bitter. A nice IPA. The freshess and fruitiness made this quite delicious. The too high carbonation was annoying.

Bottle. Copper colored with a small white foam. Pleasant fruity aroma, tropical fruit and orange. The taste was also fruity with a nice bitterness. A very descent IPA from Dugges, refreshing.
