473ml can. Pours a slightly hazy dark brown, almost black with red hue and a medium, creamy, long lasting, beige head that leaves curtains of lace. Aroma of bready rye malt, plum, smoke and light piney hops. Sweet flavour of roasted malt, spicy rye, grapefruit rind, ash, earth and piney hops in a dry, mild bitter finish. Medium body with an oily texture and average to soft carbonation. Not bad, but doesn’t live up to the venomous name. Easy to drink, but could use more hops.

Tasting at Matt's, crowler
Dark brown color. Aroma of roasted malt. Roasted malt flavor, too high acidity, combined with relative weak body, makes of this a sour stout rather than a good Black IPA. Earthy.

Crowler, pours a deep dark brown with a small beige head. Aroma is harsh, with earthy rye notes, piney hops and roasted malt. Flavour is bitter and roasty, with toasted / roasted malt and piney hops. Nice balance, with an earthy, bitter, roasty finish. Very nice.

Crowler - Piny and minty roast. Jet cloudy brown with a decent light brown head. Bitter, light pine and a nice bitter and minty pine finish.

Cloudy, murky medium brown with a bubbly head. There's some nice leafy hops with a slight mushroomy note, and some chocolatey notes. Really bitter. Touch yeasty, certainly some mellow chocolate/cocoa notes, and then leafy, tobaccoey hops. Kind of rustic, but pretty good.
