Parkway Porter pays tribute to the mountain highway between Hinton and Jasper and beyond. It is brewed with Red Shed Malting’s small batch Rocky Mountain and Chocolate Malt combined with Rahr 2-row and UK Black Patent malt giving this medium bodied classic hints of chocolate and coffee. Mildly hopped with traditional hops from the UK lend to a well balanced beer without being overly bitter.

On tap. Pours a clear dark brown with a medium, creamy, long lasting, beige head that leaves curtains of lace. Sweet aroma of roasted malt, caramel, chocolate and earth. Sweet flavour of roasted malt, caramel, chocolate, brown sugar and light ash with a dry, mildly bitter coffee finish. Medium body with an oily texture and soft carbonation. Not bad.

Tasting at Oakes' Manor, can
Dark brown colour. Earthy, dirty, some dark caramel flavour, light feeling of oxidisation.
Sub-par Porter.

Medium brown. Thin head. The aroma is very nutty, with a light fudgey note. Medium body, with more of a black sugar note, touch of coffee, and then the finish is a little bit sweet. Decent brew.

Tall can (thx, Farees!) shared with Farees and Jamey. Canned on 2017-10-05. Pours a brown with a weak tan can. Aroma is roasted malt with coffee notes. Similar taste with some fruity notes. Lots of coffee notes in the aftertaste. Solid.

Can - Dark molasses, roast and some toast. Jet brown with a small beige head. Dark sweet notes, some coffee and roast. A very English porter.
