Kriek de Ranke is an unsweetened cherry beer of mixed fermentation. It arises from a blend of old Flemish ale, lambic and 25 kilos of sour cherries/Hl.

At dig bar a bottle for a customer’s birthday who kindly shared a sip. A lovely reddish pour with a mild head. The head is exceptionally thin and filmy. A nice sour cherry lambic taste. Medium bodied. Quite tasty.

Bouteille 750ml. Couleur rouge sang trouble, mousse rosée fuyante laissant une dentelle timide. Arôme de cerise, brett, champignon, framboise subtile. Goût de cerise acidulée, brett, légèrement terreux, bonne acidité. Carbonatation moyenne, corps moyen.

Bottled on: 06.2011. Znakomite piwo rozowego koloru, pelne owocowego smaku, zwlaszcza wisni. Wytrawna owocowa koncowka, tanicznosc dobrej klasy win gronowych. Srednia rozowawa pianka, niezbyt trwala, lekki musujacy efekt. Papier i etykieta na szkle. Pieknie to wyglada, zwlaszcza ze piwo jest wyborne. Metnosc spora ze sporao iloscia na dnie butelki. Lekko kwaskowe i zdecydowanie winne. Super pasuje do wykwintnego weekendowego objadu. Polecam

Bottle from NWAF, Derby. Drank at home. Dark claret pour with a pink head. Aromas of sour cherries, wet wood, red wine vinegar. Flavours of sour cherries and a whisper of raspberry jam. Nicely balanced. Long sweet/sour finish .Very nice!

Me and Belgbeergeek cracked this leftover bottle . For some reason , it turned out to be oxidized very badly . Keeps good for 5 years, was 4 y old . But not too good anymore . will re-rate when had again ! hopefully soon, cause this one’s supposed to be really good . --------------------------- Pours pink-red . Good white head fades fast . Smell is lambic-forward, much of wet cardboard as well ( I mean, real overkill amounts ! ) Taste is dusty, overkill cardboard again . Bit sour, bit cherry .

Bottle bought @ bierkompass.de. Pours hazy brownish red with a small fizzy pinkish offwhite head that quickly dissipates without leaving much trace on the glass. Smell is fruity and funky with sour cherries, unflavored yoghurt, crackers, hay, barnyard, lemon juice, cherry jam, leather, grape skins and dry soul. Taste is sour, tart and slightly funky with crackers, lemon juice, sour milk, cherry juice, sour cherries, hay, dry soil, cherry har candy and sour cherry pits. Mouthfeel is crisp, dry, tart and light to medium bodied. Finish is sour and slightly funky with crackers, lemon juice, sour milk, grape juice, sour cherries, dry soil and hay. Delicious kriek beer! Served it with bourbon county stout chocolate mud cake which was a perfect match!

Tap at Moeder Lambic Fontainas, 29/09/13. Hazed cherry red with a moderate crimson covering. Nose is tarte cherries, light smoke, cherry drops, touch musty, cherry dipped straw. Taste comprises tarte cherry, funk, light sugar, modest acidic tones, straw. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, cherry balsam in the finish. Nice fruit sour, refreshing and well balanced.
