Sergey’s birthday party; vintage 2015, exp 05/02/20
Deep burgundy color, small frothy pink head. Aroma and flavor are characterized by a strange cork character, then some cherries; the mouthfeel is very dry; the flavor is a bit woody and astringent, there is acidity but no real Lambic quality.

750ml bottle from West Coast LS Kerrisdale at Alex’s in honor of my birthday and CPA PREP finish. Vintage 2015. Pours a red color with a rose head. Aroma is woody, corky and cherries, somewhat artificial. Same taste with those artificial notes. Just not bad.

Tap at Moeder Lambic Fontanais. Murky brown red with thin white head. Sweet and sour cherries, rhubarb, light metallic/woody. Over moderate sour and moderate bitter. Medium body, minerallike texture. Soft fizzy carbonation. Bit more watery in the aroma than the Cantillon cuvee moeder lambic but still a good crisp tartness that is very lovely.

Tap at Moeder Fontaines. Clean lactic character blends well with tha standard natural kriek feeling. Finishes slightly tart. Balanced, dry, easy drinking. Great.

Draught at Moeder Lambic, extremly bubbly foamy head, light cloudy red color with pinkish taints, aroma of cooked cherries and sweet spices with hints of sweat and stinky cheese, flavor of cooked cherries and sweat spices, fels like a cherry cake, piercing yet mellow sourness, not too heavy. Really nice and enjoyable.

0.33 l on tap at ’Café Rose Red’. Hazy, luscious red with a rather large, slightly creamy, slowly diminishing, pinkish white head. Sourish, moderately funky and very fruity aroma of massive cherries, bitter almond, raspberries, a touch of barnyard and some oak. Quite sour, still pleasant, very fruity and a bit funky taste of massive cherries, bitter almond, raspberries, oak and some barnyard, followed by a medium long, quite tart, dry-woody finish. Medium body, slightly effervescent and quite astringent mouthfeel, average carbonation. Good one, just not too sour and very fruity, has also some nice funky notes.
