Dark in colour but not in flavour, bright hop character with plenty of citrus and lightly tropical pallet combined with delicious bitterness backed with hints of coffee and chocolate.

Can at home. Aroma is roasted malt, coffee, dark chocolate, cocoa, mildly fruity bittering hops. Flavour is lightly sweet and medium bitter. Body is light to medium. An easy and refreshing light Black IPA, suits its sessionable purpose, though overall I prefer my BIPA a little more full-bodied.

Cask at Southampton Arms. Dark chocolate brown with bubbly creamy golden head. Aroma is chocolate, roast malt, bit of smoke. Taste is creamy, bit of citrus hops, bitter chocolate, some orange in there. Nice. Had my suspicions this might be a black IPA, but it really wasn't in your face bitter as I would have expected. Very nice mellow bitterness somewhere under all the roastiness.
