One of a pair of twin beers brewed to mark the first birthday of our head brewer’s twin children, Louise is a zesty little Belgian-style blonde ale. Grounded on dependable old German pilsner malt, Louise’s character is lifted and brightened by Belgian yeast, citrusy American hops, and deft spicing.

650 ml bottle. Pours a hazy light gold with moderate head. Aromas of candied lemons, bright Belgian yeast, and soft wheaty malts. Flavors follow same with additional breadfruit, white pepper and maybe some coriander. Good stuff.

Draught at Alibi Room, Vancouver
Cloudy blond color, compact head. Spicy aroma, some fruit too coming from the yeast. Robust body, off-dry, the spicy yeast dominates, some citrus zest, and some tannins and astringency in the final.
A bit dirty but very good.

On tap at the Alibi Room, pours a cloudy yellow with a large white head. Aroma brings out a complex Belgian yeast character, with straw, biscuity malt and some light rustic farmhouse character. Flavour is robust for the style, with a lovely Belgian yeast character, some citrus zest, citrus hops, some spiciness, and a crisp biscuity malt base. Crisp, punchy and wonderfully balanced. This is really great.
