BigLeaf Maple Autumn Red is a quaffable, well-balanced American red ale with character. Its malty complexity and coppery color come from a combination of two caramel malts, pale malt, and a hint of maple syrup. To complement these flavors, we used three additions of Nelson Sauvin hops in the brewkettle and a unique blend of Nelson Sauvin, Citra, and Cascade for dry hopping. A hint of maple — including bigleaf maple — syrup in every brew perfectly complements the malty complexity, balanced hoppiness, and rich fall hue of BigLeaf Maple Autumn Red.

0.355l bottle. A nice near clear kinda light amber colored one this with a small light lacing off-white top. Noticed now that it's been quite a while since I've tasted a beer from Anchor. It smells quite nice this. A bit sweet and almost a little spicy with fruity sweetness, some light yeast tones and a good amount of caramel. Red apples also found here. Smells nice and it's hinting of a slightly sweet flavor. Oh, that's tasty! Not to sweet at all, and it has a really kick almost slightly burned rye flavor all the way. Also the soft melony bitterness balanced the whole thing a lovely way. Malty yeah, but it's definitely well hopped! A bit high on the bubbles, or not to high just above average and they are of the small kind. Feels light oily on the mouth. Piney finish and aftertaste here, and it's not letting go easily. Sessional, something I could easily - and will drink again. 23.11.2013

Appearance: Hazy amber color with a fine off white head. Good lacing.
Aroma: Malty, hoppy, herbal and fruity.
Palate: Medium + body. A bit sweet and a fine bitterness. Average carbonation.
Taste: Malty, toffee, mild fruity, marple syrup and a rich hoppy tail. Some alcohol coming up.
Overall impression: Ok tasty amber. Although a bit to sweet for me. Lovely hoppy touch.
Personal stats: Bottle from Systembolaget in Strömstad, Sweden.

bottle from saveur-biere. Hazy amber-brown colour, mid-sized off-white head. Caramel and raisins, also dates and figs present, plus some shy hoppy touch. Nothing exceptional, but a decent amber ale.

A beautiful beer, reddish brown colour, a head is dense, big and beige. The nose is sweet, caramell, fruits, some tropical fruits, citrusfruits. Weird taste with sweetness and bitterness. Caramelly malts, citrusfruity bitterness, some piney wood. Medium bodied, high and refreshning carbonation. Interesting and different beer, caramell and bitterness.

slightly cloudy amber colour, huge, long lasting dense beige head; aroma of biscuit, toffee, some apple and dried fruits; taste is less complex: bitterness and some burnt sugar - based on the aroma I expected more
