Bottle @ home shared with Dutchdrebus @ weekly tasting. Slightly unclear reddish color, medium sized beige head. Smell malts, some hops, lightly sweet. Taste malts, a touch of caramel some hops, nicely bitter, maybe slightly some maple in there. Medium body and carbonation.

Bottle @ benzai. Clear dark amber colour, medium to large off-white head. Smells malty, barley wine, nice. Tastes barley-wine, some cardboard, quite malty, slightly sweet. Medium body, a bit too much carbo.

Aroma is sweet, syrupy and hoppy. Initial sweetness quickly fades as the hops kick in. Little bit metallic and bitter in the finish.

Pours reddish-amber with an inch of orangey head. Smells of pine, grapefruit, and malt. Whoa. This is interesting: fruity, light maple, and finises with toasted malts.

Wasn’t prepared for this, was thinking that this was going to taste like cloying sweet maple infused amber ale that was going to be more of a drain pour than enjoyable. Smooth caramel malts with a hint of hop resin, finish is smooth as well which can be tough for amber ales. Nice one.

355ml bottle from Westholme Stores, Goring. A copper pour with a tight cream head; the aroma has lots of piney and citrus hops; in the mouth these combine with rich caramel malts to give an explosion of fruity flavour; the finish has lots of depth from the hops, and is slightly sweet - presumably from the maple syrup. Not quite what I was expecting, but really very good.

12 ounce bottle into pint glass, bottled on 7/17/2013. Pours lightly hazy orange copper color with a 2 finger dense and rocky light khaki head with fantastic retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Spotty soapy lacing clings down the glass, with moderate streaming carbonation. Aromas of orange zest, lemon zest, apple, pear, caramel, toast, brown sugar, wood, light maple, herbal, light pine, and floral earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance of malt and hop notes; with decent strength. Taste of orange zest, lemon zest, apple, pear, caramel, toast, brown sugar, wood, light maple, pine, herbal, and floral earthiness. Fair amount of earthy floral/pine bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of citrus zest, apple, pear, caramel, toast, brown sugar, light maple, wood, pine, and floral earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Nice balance and robustness of hop and malt flavors; with a good malt/bitterness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a smooth, crisp, and lightly sticky mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with minimal warming present after the finish. Overall this is a nice amber ale. Good balance and complexity of malt and hop flavors; and very smooth and crisp to drink. A nicely enjoyable offering.

12 ounce bottle from Beer Run, opened 12/6/13. Pours a clear red-amber color with a large fizzy tan head. Good head retention. Aroma of citrus and floral notes. The taste is toasted malts, stone fruits, the faintest hint of nuts and maple. Thin-medium bodied, moderate carbonation.

Flaska från SB. Mycket karamell och kolasnören i doften plus citruszest och honung och lönnsirap. Redan här märks en lätt syrlig träig stram doft som inte är dum alls. Aningen syrlig och torr och stram för stilen vilket jag uppskattar. Karamell, dutch waffles, trä, citrusbeska och lite trött men ändå okej tall- och citrushumle. Tycker mig känna likheter i smakbilden med andra Anchoröl. Något med den kexiga malten och citrus/tallhumlen kanske. Trevlig

35cl Bottle from De Bierkoning. Slightly hazy reddish dark amber colour, off-white head. Aroma of rye, red fruits, confit, alcohol, leaves, some molasses/maple syrup, caramel/amber malts. Flavour is medium-sweet, but also quite leafy bitter, caramel, confit red fruits, marmelade, a bit soapy citrus, bitter hoppy finish. Light to medium-bodied. OK stuff.
