Modest darker brown body and minimal foam. Faint caramel aroma. Flavour is a paint by numbers esb with okay malt and dry coffee notes. Standard but uninteresting.

Draft - Earthy and woody. Cloudy copper brown with a decent beige head. Spicy hops and a light twiggy note.

On tap at Faculty, pours a clear amber with a small beige head. Aroma is restrained, with bready caramel and very light English hops. Flavour is along the same lines, with light English hops and bready caramel malt. Clean and nicely balanced, but not particularly interesting or authentic.

Golden-brown, thin head. Looks great with a little sunlight shining through it. Earthy, touch of caramel nose. On the palate it’s more toasty, with a decent body, and a fair bit of residual sugar that lends a slightly toffeeish accent. A beer that to me seems more built for a proper Yorkshire yeast and cask conditioning and thus fails to live up to its potential without those elements.

Amber color, bright and clean. Light aroma of caramel and armpit. Dry mouthfeel, caramel flavor with earthy character, some astringency and chicory in the final.
