On tap at the brewery. Pours Black with medium tan head leaving spotty lacing. The aroma is roasted malt, dark chocolate, smoke. Thick body, chewy roast, similar flavors to nose, boozy finish, very good.

Draft @ the brewpub. Dark brown in color, near black with a thin brown cap. Rich aroma of roast and a little smoke. Big flavor is sweeter than expected, but really nice. Dark bittersweet chocolate, roast, and lightly smoky. Surprising to have a big stout like this from a new brewer come out so well right out of the gates.

On tap at the Boise brewery/taproom Black, tan ring of coarse lacing. Sharp campfire roastiness and a little anise, fairly dry and clean. Long lingering fairly piney bitterness. This would mellow out pretty well..in barrels...perhaps...? Good stout.

Grunt fill from Albertsons. Black pour with tight beige head, curtains of lacing. Nice bold roast grain aroma. Mildly sweet, roasty, chicolate. Taste continues, gentle warmth. Some lingering bitterness, and growing heat in the gullet. Pretty impressed with this brew from this new brewery.
