A classic American Wheat Ale with traditional Amber malts thrown in. Three different crystal malts give it a rich amber color and flavor. Toffee, caramel and a pleasant toasty finishing note

Sampled at 10 Barrel during RBSG. Amber colored pour with a modest white head. Aroma is sweet and malty, lightly floral. Tastes mostly sweet with a very light floral bitterness. A little wheat and caramel malt flavors.

Sampled from the tap at the San Diego location. Pours a clear amber with a white head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has a good amount of earthy wheat with some bread and a touch of gras underlying. Flavor has grass and bread notes with a good amount of earthy wheat supporting.

Poured into a becher pint glass, the appearance was a dark amber color with a thin finger’s worth of white foamy head that dissipated appropriately. Mild stringy lace.
The aroma had some sweet caramel to toffee malts playing with some sweet floral hops. Sly bittering piney hops underneath. And then a crisp subtle nuttiness flowing in as it warms.
The flavor yields to the sweetness initially pulling the bitterness from the floral and piney hops in nicely. Some biscuits and bread make a subtle appearance here. Mild wheatiness. Crisp nutty to caramel to floral aftertaste with a gentle semi-sweet finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fair sessionability about it. Balancing wheat shears my tongue appropriately. Carbonation feels good, and the ABV feels good as well.
Overall, nice amber ale that I would have again. Good idea with the wheat to bring in a little more body than usual with the style without it being too hefty.

Another decent, but unremarkable beer (you don’t hit a home run every time). Amber in color (duh!) with weak aroma and taste, mostly roast grains, tends towards a watery mouthfeel.

On Tap at Boise Brew Pub. Pours out an amber topped with a tan head. Aroma of sweetness, oats, and a nice hop note. Taste is more of the sweetness, light grain, and a good hop end.

On Tap and the Boise BP Hazy medium...well..amber witha thin light tan head. Nice sweet light toast grain with some brown sugar. A soft malty flavor with a bit of that wet brown paper bag note these have sometimes. Finishes a little green tasting and fairly squeaky dry. Low on the IBUs and otherwise drinkable.
