Draft at brewpub. Dark amber with red overtones, small creamy head. Bready aroma, pumpernickel . Taste too goes malty fast, dark bread, rye mustiness. Leather, tobacco, dry leaves. Nice fall beer

From sampler at the brewery. Pours cloudy orange brown with a bone-white head and lace. Taste is biscuity, lightly bitter. Aroma is the same. My least favorite from my first trip to Barley Browns. Still good, though. 7,4,7,4,16

Draft pour at Belmont station. Pours a reddish brown with a typical rye beer aroma. Not that it’s a bad thing. Thick creamy body. Lingering rye flavor. Nice tasting, easy drinking beer.

On tap at the River Room, Whole Foods, Boise Mostly clear but deep dark amber, brown even. Dense lasting off-white head. Big sweet dark malt aroma. Woody sharp dark malt flavors with some IBU bitterness but not a lot of hop flavor.

On tap at barley brown taphouse. Pours out a nice amber topped with a small head. Nose is lots of citrus hops some sweetness and the rye. Taste is as the nose with lots of hops some chocolate and more of the rye. So happy I got to try this one, I missed it in Boise and was thinking I would miss this one.
