Pours dark brown w/thick brownish head. Smells...like chocolate. Tastes....like chocolate. Shocker. Bitterish but pretty good.

Bottle. Dark brown in color, like chocolate. I love chocolate beers and this one is right up there with the best. It just fits sitting around on a cold winter day or sitting by a fire in a campground.

Black colour with a brown head. Aroma of roasted malts, chocolate, coffee, vanilla. Flavour is chocolate and roasted malts. Not as sweet as I expected. Nice dark chocolate bitterness in the aftertaste. It would be even better with a bit more thickness. That being said, this is a wonderful brew.

Few brewers offer several different recipes within the Stout category, but Rogue does and pulls it of rather well. This is different than their more famous Shakespeare Stout, but has enough going for it to stand on it's own easily. A little less assertive than some Stouts, sweet, chocolatety, and well balanced.

Tap at Valhalla. Pitch black body, off white head. Cocoa-chocolate aroma, quite sweet and pleasant, maybe some malty undertones. Beautiful chocolate-cocoa taste, quite smooth, ending dry-ish. Fairly simplistic, but very much a tasty thing.

Bottle shared with JFE on board Fridtjofen 16.08.20. Best before 02/2015. Dark ebony. Dense and persistent pale brown head and lacing. Aroma and taste of dark chocolate, freshly roasted coffee, vanilla and coconuts. Dark chocolate and bitterness is lingering on.
