Based on our very first recipe in 1999, this classic Pale Ale features the unique character of a single hop in each hand-stirred batch. Amarillo hops add a zesty hint of citrus to this balanced brew.

Taster flight at Walking Man. Clear, bright golden pour with a small but durable white head. Nice earthy, hoppy aroma. Taste follows with some addiitonal fruit notes and a really smooth feel.

Draught. Poured pale amber with much lacing. Gorgeous pint of beer. Malt and hops balanced flavour with considerable fruitiness. Hoppy finish. This seemed, except for the strength to be a Cape Ale. Another winner from Walking Man.

2014 rating, now made with Ella hops. Fresh hop nose, light fruity character, toasty biscuity malts, earthy, balanced with a dash of late bitterness. 3 6 6 3 13
2007 rating: Pretty copper colour. Light pale malts back up some fairly bitter woody c-hops. Crisp, refreshing...not terribly inventive but nicely done. 7-3-7-4-16 = 3.7

Med amber color. Apples, cinnamon, orange pekeo nose. Mouth reminded me of peach ice tea (sweetened) with some hop bitterness. Peach tea bitter finish. Body was a bit weak, but nice overall.

On Tap at the brewpub. Clear medium amber. Modest white head and excellent sheets of persistant lacing. Soft malt aroma and hops combo. Flavor was mostly medium malts and little hops. Rather thin and very soft feel.
