English IPA
Bridge Road Brewers have created their own take on a more traditional beer style – India Pale Ale, originally a heavily hopped beer developed for the long haul from England to India by boat.
Fresh hops were added to the barrel and the alcohol was bolstered to ensure the beer went the distance on the high seas. Bling, is a huge beer, with all the bells and whistles. This ale is armed to the teeth with hops and studded with 24 carrot modified malts. At Bridge Road we've gone all out to make an IPA that screams hops and malt but still keeps balance in mind. Try matching this beer it with anything spicy or enjoy this malt and hop mouth full on its own. We love it, and hope you can too.

Draft at Taps Beer Bar, Kuala Lumpur. Poured a hazy, slightly reddish brown with a frothy white head. The aroma is hoppy and a little fruity. The flavour is all about the hops! It’s rich, sharp, medium to strong bitter and the floral hoppiness dominates. The palate and the aftertaste are rather smooth though which was a little unexpected.

Bottle at Crowbar, Oslo. Pours amber with an off-white head. Hoppy and malty aroma with fruits, pine and a solid malty background. Well balanced. Medium body. Medium to lightly sweet with hoppy and fruity flavours and a somewhat dry and pleasantly bitter finish. Very nice IPA - balanced, flavourful and easy to drink! (2013-04-14)

Shared bottle @ Patricks. Reddish amber body with a rather small off-white head. Aroma is fruity with pine and caramel malt. Quite strong in aroma. Flavor is sweet, caramel malt, fruit, berries and marmalade, moderate bitterness. Fine body and a sweet malty, fruity aftertaste where the bitterness becomes more obvious. Quite nice and rather malty IPA that lacks some bitterness but has an interesting flavor and a very nice aroma.

Bottle, at Patricks. A gusher, producing a small off-white head over a clear, dark amber body. Piney, resiny nose, with biscuity, toffee-ish malts. There’s a little bitterness in the mouth, pine cones and citrus peel too, with a bit to much maltiness. Full to medium body, soft carbonation. A bit short finish. Nice, but not a winner. 130214

Borefts warm up at Bier Temple, Amsterdam. Hazy amber beer, good white head. Light crispy palate. Minerals. Mild marmalade hops - a little watery. Tiny bit of creamy malt. Semi dry finish, Okay but a little wishy washy for a 5.8% IPA.
