This beer is a traditional Trappist brew that is light in colour and high in alcohol. The combination of high alcohol and Trappist yeast give this beer a banana nose and the addition of coriander provides a orange and spicy finish. It is deceivingly smooth and should be consumed with care and respect as the alcohol content can sneak up on you.

650 ml bottle. Pours amber with short fluffy head. Aromas of candied fruit, fruity esters, jellied stoned fruit, and toasted malts. Flavors of sweet candied fruits, coriander and celery; the latter overbearing. Oops…

Not very tripelly, but not a bad beer. Malty and a bit sweet.

Okay cloudy yellow and okay foam, yes, just okay. Soft dough on the nose with vague caramel. Flavour is a lot of dough and coriander, bubble gum. Mouthfeel has good carbonation and alcohol is invisible. Very nice, nothing complex here but well executed.

Draft - Light sweetness and bready notes. Clear gold with a rich beige head. Sweet. Bready and some dirty earthy notes.

Coriander and some florals. A little too much booze like office parties. Light sweet finish with boozy astringency. Bottle.

Draught at St. Augustine’s, Vancouver
Golden color, clean, with compact head. Light aroma, very light esters. Good body strength, sweet, but not much malt flavor, light fruity touch, ordinary bitterness; too much alcohol perception.
Nice beer, a bit too sweet for a Tripel.

On tap at St Augustine's, pours a clear pale golden with a small white head. Aroma brings out Belgian yeast, light candied sugar, and light floral fruitiness. Flavour is not authentic in any way, but still pleasant nonetheless - not too sugary to the point of cloying, with Belgian yeast, floral nights and very light fruitiness. There is certainly too much sweetness in there for a tripel, but that's typical of many (most?) North American attempts of the style. Not usually my type of tripel, but still pleasant.
