Bottle, 11.1%. The aroma starts off a bit boozy, but is also caramelly. Almost clear chestnut colour. OK tan head. The flavour comes off very sweet at first, turning caramelly and peppery. Warming and bitter alcohol with a touch of vanilla. A very sweet beer, but partly balanced by the alcohol. I like it.

Bills burger bar at rock center. 375ml. 2 finger leather head. SRM of 15. Amber hues. Nice caramel notes. Not many other smells are discernable. Sweet! Taste is sweet and malty. Akin to a lager with the finish. Oak and peppercorn. Very syrupy but it's a young barley wine so expected.

Bottle. Pours dark orange/ amber, with a small slightly coloured head. Aroma is rather complex with caramel, toffee, chocolate and dark fruits. Body is full and creamy, and has soft carbonation. Flavour is quite fruity, with figs and lots of dark fruits.

Bottle, Beer Ritz, Leeds. Dark slightly murky reddy brown pour with a small yet lingering off-white head. Sweet nutty aroma with notes of dark fruit and booze. Similarly sweet flavour with malts and prominent booze up front in the driving seat..Notes of wood and spice lurked in the shadows. Bitterish finish. Perfectly drinkable, if a tad underwhelming.

35,5 cl bottle @ home, no BBE info found
Aroma is rather malty with some ripe fruits and german-like grassy hops. Also hints of vanilla. Flavour is rather sweet with malt, sugar, glue and solvent-like alcohol I’ve observed in some not-so-good dobbelbocks. Too sweet and sticky.

Bottle @ Home. Pours dark amber with a small offwhite head. Aroma of malt, caramel, brown sugar, oak, dark fruit. Taste is bready malt, caramel, marzipan, plums, figs, booze. Medium to full body, quite high carbonation for the style / ABV, slight alcoholic finish. Decent, but rather sweet BW. 020212

355ml bottle. Flocculated deep dark antique pink with rapidly fading yellow-white head. Typically forceful malt and dark fruit aroma with some spices (maybe even anise?). Alcohol is almost completely hidden. Mouthfeeling is very comparable to Pernod. Can’t really abandon this anise theme. A Barley Wine able to reconcile me with this style that otherwise more often than not is overdone in a way entailing somatical adversity.
