(Bottle) Reddish amber colour with frothy, beige head. Malty, hoppy nose with orange peel, mandarin, grapefruit, caramel, treacle toffee and vinous hints of alcohol. Malty, fruity taste with notes of grapefruit, orange peel, pine needles and caramel. Generous citric, piney bitterness in a lasting finish with a warming touch of alcohol. Solid bready wheat and malt foundation, but most of the wheat characteristics are overshadowed by the hops. Almost full body, with balanced sweetness. Excellent balance despite the high alcohol level. Lovely beer.

Dark amber clear beer. Oily hops palate and bags of hop flavour. Not short of hop bitterness either. A light touch of malt. Where is the wheat in this? Very drinkable.

Tasting at Bruce’s Pad. Thanks to Jack. Light haze on this amber beer, good pale cream coloured head. Smooth palate, soft and light and airy. Smooth soft creamy malt, touches of caramel and toffee. Trace of aniseed spice. Good dried fruit tones. Hops have clearly faded but still a very nice barleywine!

Bottle Thanks to ditmier for sharing. Pours out a amber topped with a off white head. Aroma was of caramel, floral hops, brown sugar and some rich malts. Taste was much like the aroma. Lots of the caramel sweetness. I think this needed a little time.

Small light beige head. Bronze-red body. Intense marzipany toffee walnuts aroma with notes of roasted almonds, chocolate, and citric hops. Awesome balance and clarity. Intense bittersweet gasoline, wood, and marzipan taste with citrusy alcoholic fruity notes. Sharpish, rounded mouthfeel with alcohol heat. Dry-sweet grainy raisiny malty aftertaste with grassy oily peppery notes. Excellent, if perhaps not entirely balanced. Ɛ.66l bottle.)

Dark amber color. Bananas, cherries, sherry, milk chocolate, strawberries in nose. Mouth is very thick, syrupy, sweet with lots of strawberries and brandy notes. Brandy just lingers in the finish. Excellent
