Smoked Porter. Pours a deep brown in colour with a tan head. The smokiness of the peated malts is matched by a smooth taste of toffee, caramel and dark fruits.

Location: Draft at Ginger Man, 4/12/13

Aroma: The aroma is a nice mix of roasted and smoked malts, with some fruity notes as well
Appearance: It pours a brown-black color with a brown head and some fairly heavy lace
Flavor: The flavor is much the same as the nose component-wise, but a tinge better in my opinion
Palate: The body is medium-full, with a soft carbonation, and a creamy and smooth mouthfeel
Overall Impression: I thought that this one was a very nice Smoked Porter. It has a very nice mix of the roasted and smokey flavors. The smoke is present, but certainly not overpowering. I didn't find much to complain about here.

Cask at the Reading Beer Festival 2012. Pours black-brown with a foamy, beige head. Big dark malt nose, faint roast. Nice flavor, medium sweet with dark malts, burnt grass, some minerals, some dark chocolate, a bit of earthy bitterness. Medium bodied with fine carbonation. Somewhat dry and minerally to finish, with light roast, faint smoke, burnt grass and a bit of milk cocoa. Not bad overall.

From cask @ Borefts 2012. This is dark brown in color and it has a bubbly sidesticking a bit dissapointin I-have-given-up head. On the nose it's definitely not extreme, but I get tones of honey, wood and something dark fruity-sweet. As mentioned not extreme, but it's subduedly nice in it's own way. In taste it's quite delicious! Flat on the cO2 with a thin oily mouthfeel. A strong sweet chocolate flavor with subtle wood-hints. Woody-dry definitely and there is also a soft watery licorice flavor in this one. 30.09.2012

On cask Coach and Horses, Dronfield - An almost black body with a bubbly tan head. Light malty aroma. Oaky, peaty taste with a hint of whisky, a bit smoky, but very drinkable, I know, we went back for seconds... and thirds... you can guess the rest. Messy.

Cask at Borefts beer festival. Poured almost black with a bubbly tan head. Light malty aroma. Oaky, peaty taste with a hint of whisky, but not as much as I was expecting. Very drinkable, but not a classic. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
