Smoked Porter. Pours a deep brown in colour with a tan head. The smokiness of the peated malts is matched by a smooth taste of toffee, caramel and dark fruits.

Sample (from cask) @ Borefts ’12. Color is dark, brown. No head. Not much aroma, retronasal some roast & chocolate. Flavor is roasted, medium sweet, chocolate. Light bodied. Finishes bitter. Pity about the lack of aroma, but the flavor saves it.

Craft. Very dark red- brown beer. Little tan head. Smooth palate, low carbonation and a little dry. Very mild tangy dark malts. A little dark fruits. The smoke is quite subtle. Smooth semi dry finish. Mild and well joined up.

Cask at the Grove Inn, Huddersfield. It pours pretty much black, with a thick beige head. The nose is smoke, smoked ham, coal and leather. The taste is roasted malt, smoke, milk chocolate, charcoal, Bavarian smoked ham, caramel and a hint of alcohol warmth, with a dry-roasted finish. Medium body and soft mouth-feel. Very flavoursome, smooth and well balanced.
